Chopped Deli Club Sandwich

Sandwiches are kind of a staple for many of us. And many of us turn to them frequently for a quick and easy meal. These Chopped Deli Club Subs are a fun way to spruce things up and make your sandwiches a little more fun.

Chopped Deli Club Sandwich

2 slices Organic sprouted bread (I like Ezekiel Bread), sourdough bun, or grain free tortilla

4 oz Organic deli meat (turkey, ham, chicken, roast beef, salami, pepperoni)

Organic greens

Toppings: red onion, tomato, olives, peppers, pickles

2 Tbls avocado mayo

1 Tbls organic mustard

1 Tbls extra virgin olive oil

1 Tbls vinegar (I used balsamic)

Season with salt, pepper, and/or Italian seasoning

Place all of your sandwich toppings on a cutting board. Dice until finely chopped. Serve on top of your bread or bun. If going gluten or grain free, this works great in a wrap!

In this weeks recipe I am going to educate you on how to choose a deli meat that is going to better for your health than others.

First and foremost, you have GOT to start looking at the ingredients in your food. And guess what?! Deli meat is no exception! In fact, most deli meats have preservatives, sugars, artificial sweeteners, phosphates, and GMO ingredients. Not all deli meats are created equal.

Here's what to look for in your deli meat: meat, organic sugars (if any), and seasonings you know the names to (salt, pepper, rosemary, garlic, etc.) no other filler ingredients.

The Natural Choice brand is a better option than most others. If it's in your budget, I would go with Applegate Natural or any other organic brands. Deli meats aren't supposed to be consumed on a regular basis, so when it comes to picking a higher quality brand, I'm absolutely going to splurge and spend a couple more dollars on ingredients that aren't going to harm my gut health.

Try out this fun recipe and let me know what you think! Save it in your archive for a fun school lunch for your kids as well.

Happy cooking!

Love,

Danielle
