Greek Yogurt Veggie Dip

With Spring just around the corner I find myself yearning for fresh, straight from the garden, vegetables! And honestly, this veggie dip is one of the reasons why I'm so excited to have these back on my table.

Now I know that Greek Yogurt is dairy and for some of us, this might not be a recipe that we would be making due to food sensitivities or autoimmune disease. For this purpose, I will show you what you can do as an alternative to using Greek Yogurt.

Now, when it comes to picking out a good Greek Yogurt you want to pay attention to 1 thing: Make sure there are no added sugars or preservatives. You simply just need milk and cultures. No need for any additional ingredients. I prefer to choose how my yogurt tastes, this way I have control of how much sugar I am eating and I don't need to worry about any unnecessary ingredients that could possibly harm my gut biome.

Ideally, buying whole fat Greek yogurt will make it easier for your gut to digest, leading you to be less gassy or bloated afterwards. This is why I like to add oil to my yogurt dip if I am using a fat free or fat reduced yogurt.

A few brands of Greek yogurt that I like are:

Stonyfield Whole Fat Plain Greek Yogurt

Good and Gather Whole Fat Plain Greek Yogurt

Kirkland Organic Greek Yogurt

Greek Yogurt Veggie Dip

Servings: 8

1 cup Plain Greek Yogurt (use Forager Dairy Free Sour Cream instead)

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp celery seeds

1 tsp dill weed

1 Tbls Everything Bagel Seasoning

1 Tbls dehydrated onion or 2 Tbls fresh chopped onion

1 Tbls extra virgin olive oil

In a large bowl combine all ingredients together with a fork. Allow to sit for 30 minutes in the fridge before serving to allow all the flavors to come together in the yogurt! Serve with your favorite spread of fresh veggies!

Fun Facts about Dill Weed:

It's a good source of Vit A & C, calcium, and iron! Dill is also packed in flavonoids, which helps reduce your risk of heart disease and stroke!! (https://www.webmd.com/diet/health-benefits-dill

This dip is the perfect appetizer to serve at big parties or family events! I love to have this on hand just to snack on throughout the day, and I totally believe that having a dip out like this will help you be more motivated to get your veggies in for the day!
